‘Sonia Guajajara – Warrior for the Future’ presents the journey and rise of one of the most influential figures in the world today: Sonia Guajajara.

From the 2022 general elections, through the 2025 COP, and into the year 2026, this documentary closely follows Sonia’s path in politics, social movements, and her personal life — including her victorious election as a federal deputy and the challenges of becoming the first Minister of Indigenous Peoples in a country plagued by climate change denialism, driven by financial interests and a growing wave of violence against Indigenous people.

The documentary is directed by Edivan Guajajara, with co-direction by Renan Braga. It is produced by Ventre Studio, Amazônia Alerta, Peixa, Red Terra Studios, and Nós, in partnership with Rewild, an environmental organization dedicated to protecting the planet. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is the foundation’s president.
