Directed by David Schurmann, the feature film is a tale of friendship between a lonely father and a small lost penguin, which recharges his spirit and heals his family with unwavering loyalty that spans the ocean. In the story, humble fisherman João (Jean Reno) has withdrawn from the world after a tragedy, but when he discovers a penguin adrift alone in the ocean, soaked in oil from a spill, his first instinct is to help. To his wife’s (Adriana Barraza) dismay, he not only rescues the marine creature but also cares for the bird and names it DinDim.

‘My Penguin Friend,’ premiering on August 16 in theaters, is the result of the first Production Service conducted by Ventre Studio, a branch of our company primarily managed by founding partner Justine Otondo, who has extensive experience having worked with names like Walter Salles, Carlos Saldanha, Hector Babenco, among others.
