Three Holes
Tânia and her brother, still children, lived between the gold mine, the brothel, and the cemetery. Hence the name of the place: “Three Holes,” a village nestled in the northeastern backlands where the only representative of law and order was the Sheriff, their father. After a thief miner, on his way to the gallows, cast a curse upon him and his descendants, the Sheriff, while digging the grave for the dead man, found the largest and most beautiful tourmaline that had ever shone in the world. The discovery, however, was part of the curse and brought the promised misfortune upon him and everyone in the mine. Twenty years later, Tânia, her partner Cleonice, and her brother Canhoto unite their miserable lives around a plan. Canhoto is after money and is ready to kill for it. Cleonice just wants to get out of that wretched land. And Tânia is obsessed with the idea of reclaiming the tourmaline hidden by her father, disbelieving in the curse. However, death is always digging graves in 3 HOLES.
